    All our treatments are carried out by a registered nurse with many years experience using needles and cannula’s and Natalie is very gentle in her approach.

    Topical numbing cream is applied before dermal filler treatment and the dermal filler products we use also contain Lidocaine, a local anaesthetic, to make the treatment as comfortable as possible.

    Having said that some areas are more sensitive than others and everyone feels pain differently so some people may find injections uncomfortable.

  • Can I have a consultation and treatment on the same day?

    This depends on what treatment you’re having. For anti-wrinkle treatment you must have a consultation with a medical prescriber and then an appointment will be made for you to return for treatment.

    For dermal filler, Profhilo, Aqualyx or skin therapies then you may have the consultation and treatment on the same day however you will always be given a ‘cooling off period’ so you can consider what has been discussed.

  • What are anti-wrinkle injections?

    A type of Botulinum Toxin is injected into the muscle. This temporarily stops the production of Acetylcholine, the neurotransmitter responsible for muscle contraction. As a result the lines and wrinkles caused by repeated movement (frowning, raising eyebrows, smiling) soften as the muscle relaxes.

    You cannot have consultation and treatment on the same day for anti-wrinkle injections.

  • What are dermal fillers?

    The dermal fillers used at Bloomfield Aesthetics are all Hyaluronic Acid (HA) based and of the highest quality. HA is is a natural substance found in the body. Fillers are injected into the face in order to restore lost volume, contour, add definition, fill lines and wrinkles and hydrate.

  • How long do results last?

    Dermal filler- This depends on the area treated, the product used and lifestyle factors, but you can expect filler to last between 6- 24 months. Results are instant but optimum results are seen after 2 weeks.

    Anti-wrinkle treatment- This treatment starts to kick in after 3-5 days and is at its peak at 2 weeks. You can expect results to last between 3-4 months but again lifestyle factors such as exercise and sun exposure can affect this.

    Profhilo- A minimum of two treatments are required 4 weeks apart. Optimum results are seen after 8 weeks and maintenance can be 1 syringe every 3 months or full treatment again after 6 months.

    Aqualyx- The results of fat dissolving treatment are permanent, providing you maintain a healthy weight. Multiple treatments are required to achieve the desired result, usually 4-6 weeks apart, but there is no set amount needed.

  • How long does treatment take?

    Dermal filler- Depending on which area(s) are being treated this usually takes between 30-60 minutes, including your consultation. The consultation is the most important part of your treatment as it allows me to understand what your aesthetic goals are and how we might achieve them.

    Anti-wrinkle treatment- Usually takes 30 minutes. You will need a separate consultation appointment before your treatment for wrinkle relaxing injections.

    Profhilo- Treatment usually takes 30 minutes.

    Aqualyx- Treatment takes 30 minutes, depending on the area(s) being treated.

  • What is Profhilo

    Profhilo is classed as a skin booster. It is injectable hyaluronic acid which hydrates from within. It also stimulates the production of collagen and elastin (the proteins that keep our skin plump and firm), remodelling the appearance of ageing skin.

  • What are the risks of Profhilo

    Profhilo is a low risk treatment and there is little to no downtime. There will be blebs of product under the skin initially after injection, which them get absorbed naturally. You may have some redness, itching, tenderness or bruising at the injections sites.
